Once In a Lifetime

The class watched a video on Literacy Shed. They then wrote their own narrative based on the video, changing some aspects and adding an ending.
Mharsal has used adjectives to describe the setting and characters. He has also included adverbs to make his story more interesting and exciting. The paragraphs have been added by the teacher.

Once upon a time an old, old pirate lived in an old brown flying boat. But then the boat broke. The thing that broke was the sails so the brown boat couldn't move.

But then some green, dotted, flying, humongous turtles came by and the old man had an idea. So the old man threw the brown rope onto a turtles neck. The poor turtle pulled and pulled. The old man looked at the rope. It was about to break! Suddenly it snapped in half and the old man was sad because it rubbed on the wood and that's how ropes break.

But luckily, there was one more turtle following behind. It made a squeaking sound and the old man was happy. Silently he waited for a little bit, then he jumped quietly onto it's light, blue shell. Now the old pirate was joyful. Silently the old man and the turtle flew away.

They found an island of flying turtles. The turtle landed silently on the green, soft grass. The old man said, "Wow! This place is ginormous!" He looked around the whole place and found beautiful green palaces. There was somewhere for him to sleep so when it was night he slept on his bed in a palace.

He slept and slept all night. But he dreamed about going back home. Finally it was morning and the old man was feeling gloomy. Eventually the old man saw a turtle going for a trip. The old man quietly ran to the green turtle and he made it. They flew loudly and when they flew the old man saw his brown wooden house.

The old man said, "Go down there green, humongous turtle." But the turtle did not understand so the old man pointed down and now the turtle understood. Finally the turtle landed. When they landed the old man was pleased. He was at his home. Then he walked inside the brown wooden door and old man was glad he was at his own house.
