Alma - the story of an orphan

One snowy, freezing cold day a little girl trudged through the heavy snow. “What a deserted town”, she said to herself.

As she walked through the alley, she saw a blackboard covered in names. She wrote her name. Alma to be exact.

Up rose a doll that looked exactly like her. Rose vest, woollen, blue beanie and green eyes. Alma rubbed her cozy glove over the foggy window.

“Cold, cold, cold!!” Alma yelled. Tick, the door went as Alma struggled to open it. With an unhappy face Alma threw a white snowball at the front door. Suddenly the door creeeeeeeeaked open.  Alma nervously walked in.

“Huh? My dolls gone!” She peaked around. “Aha!” She climbed onto the couch. Two creepy twin dolls slowly turned their heads and stared. A boy on a black bicycle crashed into the door as he tried to escape.

Alma reached up and touched her dolls nose. VOOSH!!!!!!!  Pictures of scary dolls whooshed through Alma’s mind. She had turned into her own doll!

A dark shadow cranked up the next doll that looked exactly like Undo. “MUA HA HA HA!!!!” yelled the dark shadow.”1,999,999,999 down 1 to go”!

Undo was a wonderful little girl. She had red hair, a blue warm vest and a pink beanie.

Undo wrote her name on the same blackboard. Undo skipped into the doll shop. She touched everyone else’s dolls. Everyone came out of their own doll.

10 Years later Alma got married to that same boy on the bicycle. The dark shadow said his very last words. “I shall rise again you orphans.”

Eventually, everyone in the village smashed the shop down. But since the dark shadow could not control the dolls anymore, everyone finally had their own doll.

One chilly, freezing day, a young girl was trudging through the snowy street.

The young girl wrote her name, Alma on the blackboard. Suddenly a doll rose up. It was exactly like her. Alma wore a beanie, a cosy scarf and warm winter clothes.

Next she saw an old, rusty shop. She went to the door and tried opening it. She was really struggling to open the door. She was very disappointed. So she made a snowball and threw it on the door and left. But then the door just opened by itself!

She quietly sneaked inside the old rusty shop and saw the doll of herself. She tried to touch the doll, but she nearly tripped on a doll on a bicycle. The boy on the bicycle wanted to get out of the shop. Then she let the boy on the bicycle go, but then the door closed.  The bicycle was bumping on the door. Bump! Bump! went the bicycle.

After that when she turned around, her doll was GONE! She tried looking everywhere on the table but the doll was on the shelf. She tried reaching the doll. She climbed up the couch and gently touched the doll's face. Just then the doll's eye moved. Pictures of the life of Alma flashed. All of a sudden Alma was trapped inside the doll. She stared around the shop while her heart was beating fast for breath.

Later on a girl wrote her name, Jade on the blackboard.  A doll exactly like her came up. So Jade went inside, touched the doll like her and got sucked in too.

The next week all the dolls just automatically went down and opened the door and went outside everywhere. Just then an invisible person came. He was the god of dolls. He knew that everybody was inside their doll. So he used his powers and grabbed all the people that were trapped in the dolls. When he grabbed everyone out of the dolls, all the dolls and him just disappeared!

Then Alma and everyone lived happily ever after.

Once upon a time on a breezy, snowy, winters day, near the town square, a little girl was venturing down a dark alley. The girl took notice of a blackboard covered with thousands of names. The little girl wrote her own name Alma, on the blackboard.

Suddenly Alma looked back and gasped. Her own doll was standing right before her eyes. Immediately she dashed to the creaky door and tried to open it. After she struggled for a while she got extremely mad. She made a snow ball then chucked it at the door with all her tiny strength. Alma ran off.

Unfortunately the door creaked open slowly. Alma ran back to the deserted shop. Alma peaked through a large gap and pushed the door. Alma took a quick look around the shop. In a corner a person was blending into the dark, misty shadows. Just as she took one step she tripped over a doll. Suddenly that doll woke up and rode his bicycle.

Alma searched for her ghostly doll. There it was! The doll was on a stable shelf. Alma climbed the shadowy shelf and touched the doll. Suddenly Alma transferred to the doll. Alma was breathing heavily and looking around. All she saw was dolls blinking. She was trapped!

Six months later a little girl came along to touch all the dolls. Magically all the people came out of their dolls.

Dough Relief Birds

We have been sketching native birds, looking carefully at the shape of their bodies, beaks and feet and at the texture of their feathers. Today we practised shaping our birds with dough and using iceblock sticks to create the texture of their feathers.
